Class Summary:
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used for thousands of years to treat illness and maintain health. Modern medical science has just begun to realize the benefits of these ancient modalities. This class will take a brief look at how the body works from both an allopathic and oriental health standpoint. During the seminar we will, also, briefly look at the theories that make up the various aspects of TCM; how they are used to heal and how they can be used to increase technique effectiveness. Included in the class will be a basic acupressure health maintenance routine that combines elements of TCM and medical massage modalities. Join us as we look at the other side of the martial arts mountain.
About:
GM Jeffrey Helaney D.Sc./OM, CFT, LMT holds a 9th Dan in Traditional TaeKwon-Do and 7th Dan in Hapkido. He has been a student of the martial arts for over 50 years. During his journey he has studied both traditional and allopathic health modalities in a personal quest to obtain a greater understanding of his arts. GM Helaney is a professional member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the American Massage Therapy Association, and the International Sports Science Association. He is Board Certified by the AAMA and is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Nebraska
